Even if you ask permission, no artist in their right mind is going to allow their designs to be changed and/or altered in ANY way for your own personal gain. For you, an artist like myself, to even think that asking this was a good idea, was a good idea, then there is something wrong with you.
You asking this to my boyfriend is like me coming up to you and saying, "HEY, I WANNA KNOW IF IT WOULD BE OKAY TO CHANGE YOUR DESIGNS AND NAMES FOR YOUR POKEMON SO THAT I CAN USE THEM!!"

now because it is a fan pokedex explain how in the world would pokemon created by INDIVIDUAL PEOPLE, HAVE THE SAME STYLE? I would cange the style of how they look only to make them all look alike, same with the names, some names ar really hardcore, and some are fluffy, NOT REALLY FITTING TOGETHER. and if someone favorited one of these pokemon I would comment back " this is not my creation, if you want the real artists pokemon go here".
Now to be honest, I WOULD NOT USE THESE AT ALL!!!!!!!! just a FAN POKEDEX, emphesis on the FAN!!!! part, and for the recor a few of the artists agreed to this, but I trashed the Idea because it was just to much work to deal with DOUCHEBAGS LIKE YOU!!!.
Now before the next time you acuse people of doing something, when in reality they are'nt, why dont you get the FULL story, instead of ranting about what you think the person is doing, and PMSing about how "Just because you think its true, it is".

Making a pokedex is one thing, that's fine and dandy. Making a fakemondex with other people's fakemon, that's fine too, but when you change the design to fit with the others, and change their names so that they seem to fit, it would be like me taking *Jubilations character Dezzi and telling her, "Hi, i'm going to use Dezzi for a project of mine, but i'm going to change his design and name to fit the rest of the project, okay?"
It's okay to wanna draw and use other people's stuff, but it's a different thing thing to change them for your own use. Even if you ask, it's still stealing because you aren't respecting the artist enough to use their designs to the full. AND WHO CARES IF THE NAMES DON'T MATCH!!! A LOT OF POKEMON DON'T HAVE NAMES THE FIT THE SAME THING!!!!
Some pokemon have fluffy names like Pichu, Vulpix, Buizel, and Togepi, and some have hardcore names like Rapidash, Arcanine, Regigigas, and Houndoom. They all don't fit the same theme!!
IF i'm the first ridicule that you've ever gotten for this oh-so-flawed idea of yours and you've decided to quit it then you obviously can't stand your ground on something you believe you in and break down easily. I'm actually a really nice guy, and hate getting into arguments, but when it comes to art theives(even if they won't admit to being one) then the gloves come off.
You can't take someones designs and change them to make them fit something or make them easier to draw. If you wanna use them, use their designs, and DON'T CHANGE THEM.
I'm sorry for starting this fight because I feel that DA should be for artists to get feedback on their art, not to cause drama, but you don't seem to realize that a lot of artists could be offended by you wanting to change their designs.
